- 40mm insulated panels
- Full perimeter weather seals
- Glazed panel options
A sectional garage door lifts in hinged panels and runs back along the ceiling, which is why it is the standard door on newer Brakpan housing. The later developments through Dalpark, Sonneveld, Kenleaf and Withok Estates were built with the headroom for it, and it gives the best seal and the best appearance of any garage door type.
Sectional garage doors we supply in Brakpan
- Steel sectional doors in ribbed, panelled and flush profiles.
- Insulated sectional doors with a foam core for garages used as living or work space.
- Aluminium and glazed sections where the door is part of the elevation.
- Timber-look finishes for the appearance without the maintenance.
Headroom, side room and square openings
A standard sectional door needs around three hundred millimetres above the opening, clear space each side for the tracks, and a reasonably true reveal. That last requirement is the one that rules a sectional door out on a lot of Brakpan properties, because a converted carport or an owner-built garage is frequently out of square by enough to make a rigid door bind. We measure top, middle and bottom and tell you honestly whether the opening needs correcting or whether a shutter is the better answer.
Sealing against dust and wind-driven rain
Sectional doors seal better than any other type because the panel face sits against the frame all the way round. On open ground where wind drives rain and dust straight at the door, that perimeter seal is the difference between a usable garage and one that needs sweeping every week.
Insulated sectional doors
An insulated door makes a real difference where the garage is a workshop, a gym or a room. Insulated panels are also stiffer and considerably quieter, and on an exposed elevation the extra rigidity stops the drumming that a single skin does in wind.
Springs, balance and safety
A sectional door is balanced by torsion assemblies, and that balance is what protects the motor. We rate them to the door mass and the cycle count, fit cable safety devices where the design calls for them, and check the balance by hand at every service.
Replacing a tip-up door with a sectional
This is common Brakpan work. Where the frame is sound the old frame usually stays, the tracks are new, and the opening is measured as it is rather than as the plan says. Where the frame was never square, we say so before quoting rather than after fitting.
Motorising a sectional garage door
Rail-mounted operators sized to door mass, with a manual release and battery backup where load shedding matters. Safety reversal is set and tested at handover, not left at factory default.
What a sectional garage door costs in Brakpan
Priced on width and height, panel type, insulation, finish, automation and any correction the opening needs. Single and double doors are quoted separately because the balance and operator specification changes with the mass.
